The Elegant Crab Spider in Messier 33

This little creature, in the distal part of one of the spiral arms of M 33, resembles a red version of the Elegant Crab Spider we have here on earth, about 3M light-years away. (The stars around it have been removed.) It is on the order of 90 arcseconds across—large enough for a painful bite—and is creeping up on the galaxy’s inner arms, which catch the right edge of the image.
